Canadian Baptist Ministries Christmas Gifts

What a wonderful response to “Gifts for Change”! Through the support of our congregation - 7 children will go to school; 6 families will have health insurance; 1 pastor will have a bicycle; 1 pastor will be supplied with books and resources; 1 National field staff worker will be supported; 6 Guardians of Hope will be supported; 4 people will receive Chagas testing and treatment; 1 child freed to be a child; 7 pastors supported, 3 gifts to provide access to HIV and AIDS testing and treatment; 11 gifts of 3 trees and supplies; 7 gifts of seeds, tools and training; 20 pairs of chicks or rabbits; 11 pigs, cows or goats; 3 water filters provided; 3 gifts to use where most needed and 1 gift to start a new business.

 To date we have received $2685.00. Thank you for your kind and generous support. “Truly, I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” Matthew 25:40. If you would like to contribute, Nancy Ohsberg will be in the foyer following the morning service or you may contact her through the church office.

Bereavement

As a caring community of faith and love we extend our sincere Christian sympathy to May Ann Cain on the death of her sister, Rosemarie Cain-Brown, who passed away on November 9, 2009

Thanks to Our Local Groceries Stores

As a result of generous donations from Atlantic Superstores in Bedford and Lower Sackville, Miriam MacDonald was able to purchase 80 items of clothing including ski mitts, gloves, scarves, socks, T-shirts, underwear for men and women, and toques.

These donations were taken to the soup kitchen at St. George’s Anglican Church to be given to the homeless as Christmas gifts.

“God Invitation To Prayer”

Stevens Road United Baptist Church is excited to host “God’s Invitation to Prayer”, a prayer conference to be held on Saturday, January 23, from 8:30 am – 3:00 p.m., with Dr. Harry Gardner, President of Acadia Divinity College and Rev. Judith Gates. There will also be workshop electives. Plan to attend and respond to God’s invitation!
