Sunday Prayer Link
Please pray
for those who exercise special ministries of compassion. Pray especially for
those who are serving as full-time hospital chaplains – for Rev. Randy Fawkes in
Saint John and Rev. Gerald Burke and Rev. Adele Crowell in Halifax – that they
will be strengthened and encouraged in their ministry, and that God’s Spirit
would powerfully reveal Himself through their caring presence. Please pray too
for your local hospital and nursing home chaplains in your
vicinity.

Is
God Calling You To Serve?
The Nominating Committee
is currently working on its’ report which will contain recommendations for
Officers, Boards and Committees of Bedford Baptist Church for the year
commencing at the Annual meeting in February 2010. Articles V and VI of the current constitution
lay out, in some detail, terms of service required for the officers, major
boards and committees (i.e. Deacons, Christian Education, Finance, Trustees and
Missions) Other committees may or may not list specific terms of service. This
time each year, members of the Nominating Committee, contact those people listed
in the previous years’ annual report in order to ascertain where vacancies will
occur and then they are tasked with the responsibility of finding new volunteers
for the positions. We would like to thank those who have responded to date and
although we have made good progress thus far, there are still a number of
vacancies to be filled. We would ask that you prayerfully consider the request
when contacted by our committee. If
there is a specific area you would like to serve please let your interests be
known to the Nominating Committee. It takes many from our congregation to
give of their time and talents in support of the Lords’ work here at Bedford
Baptist. - Lloyd Mitchell, Chair,
Nominating Committee.
