WELCOME

We welcome Christy Nickerson Rak (a former member of our church) and her husband Rev. Miro Rak and son Isaiah to our morning worship service. They will be sharing with us a ministry that God has called them to in Litomerice, Czech Republic. This ministry is similar to the one that Erin Archibald- Pokorny (a member of our church now married and working in Scotland) was involved in a few years ago.

We thank God for the many ways that we, at Bedford Baptist Church have, through the years, been in ministry partnership with our fellow Christians in the Czech Republic.

Small Groups

"God is Closer Than You Think"

Beginning  this evening for 6 Sunday evenings, we will be exploring this theme. The study will help you find God where you least expect Him, listen to His voice, find the best way to relate to God, align yourself with the Holy Spirit, and draw closer to God even when He seems far away. It will take the format of a worship time, video presentation and then small group discussion. The videos are presented in a novel way by John Ortberg. The discussions will be led by church folks in groups of 10 or so. This is a great series and a great opportunity to try out small groups for a short time to see how they work for you! All adults, young and old, are welcome! Fireside youth will be participating. Put this in your new day planner for January!!! Sign up sheets are in the foyer.

The Marriage Course - led by Pastor Ida starts tonight (7 weeks)

Are you looking for a great way to deepen your relationship with your spouse or significant other? Join us for “The Marriage Course” which will begin @ 6:30 p.m. in the Heffler Room. The course consists of 7 video sessions presented by Nicky and Sila Lee (a couple who have been married for over twenty years and have four children). The course is designed to prepare, build and strengthen marriages. It is also open to those contemplating marriage.  Cost of $20.00 per couple. Hope to see you there.

Are you a couple in your mid-20's to mid-30's?

You're invited to an evening of fun at the Archibald's (Bob and Louise) on February 6th 7-9pm. For further details call Archibald's @ 865-7077 or church office @ 835-5966

L.A.F.F. (Life After Fifty-Five)

On Thursday morning 12 people came to our new program LAFF. There is still room for more. Please come and join us in a time of fellowship, learning and laughter this Thursday at 9:45 in the Heffler Room. This week’s focus is Faith Lesson 2: Wet Feet… Contact person: Miriam MacDonald 864-6208.  Please pick up a green sheet on the table in the foyer outlining Scripture readings and Questions.  See you Thursday mornings!

Bayside Prayer Request

Praise God for His unfailing faithfulness!  Praise Him for what He will do through the ministry of the new Bayside. Praise Him for faith-filled people He is using to raise up this work of God.

Please pray for the details to come into place as we plan a Prayer Service for Bayside to be held mid- February on a Sunday night at First Baptist, Dartmouth.  Praise, slides, focused prayer is the plan.  We will be looking for help in getting the word out across HRM.

Please pray for the on-going building at the site.  The lodge is being worked on, many workers are needed for cabin building! Please pray for the on-going financial campaign and God’s hand of provision.

Please pray for God to call the people He has chosen for the staff positions at camp this summer.

Please pray for wisdom and revelation for all the questions that arise almost on a daily basis for those who are planning and making decisions.

A Church for the 21st Century

On Saturday, February 14, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., there will be a Seminar entitled “A Church for the 21st Century,” at Regal Road Baptist Dartmouth. This is a Seminar for Pastors, Church Leadership, and all interested parties, who want to have a glimpse of what the Church needs to look like in this relatively new era. As we move out of the Modern era into the Postmodern one, the Church will need to retool and restructure its missional activities, its form of worship, and how it reaches into the local communities where they exist. With the Postmodern era comes a new way of doing, and a new way of knowing why we do what we do. This Seminar will explain how we are to offer hope to a world that is largely affected by uncertainty. There will be a $10 fee for materials and for lunch. There will be lots of time of questions and for interaction. If you plan on attending, or if you have questions, please contact Regal Road Baptist Church at 434‑7558, or by email; bryanhagerman@accesswave.ca
