Summer Coordinators/Facilitator Positions

The Stewardship Committee would like to invite you to join them for a Bluegrass and Gospel Concert on Saturday, April 4th in the church gymnasium. CABC Mission Rally

Bedford Baptist Church, March 21, @7:00pm. “How do we minister to new Canadians who come to Canada to live?” Dr. Barber, Director of Missional Initiative for the Baptist Convention of Ontario & Quebec will address the practical ways churches can reach out and minister effectively to new Canadians. The sessions will be interactive with opportunity for you to ask questions and reflect with him.

 

Anti‑Racism - We Can Make A Difference!

An Inter-Faith Celebration of Hope is being held at the Bella Rose Art Centre on Saturday, March 21. A Musical Gathering for the Event begins at 6:30 p.m. The Main Event will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the entrance of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia. Free admission. Light refreshments following. A voluntary offering will be collected for the education of three or more students in Haiti.

 

Attention: Social Committee and Those Who Serve/Prepare Food

You are invited to attend a free Food Safety Training for the Province of NS, on March 21, 2009 at the Sackville Salvation Army Church corner of Metropolitan and First Lake in Lower Sackville. The three hour class will commence at 9:00am. The training is geared specifically for volunteers who cook in kitchens, or help out in times of emergencies. It will be conducted by a food inspector from the Department of Agriculture. The completion of this training means certification with the Department of Health to conduct food preparation/service in provincial emergencies. If you are interested, please church office 835-5966

Update on Myrtle Mayhew

Thank you for all those who have been praying and continuing to pray for me. Recovery to me has been slow but the doctors are pleased with my progress and tell me I have progressed 30%. You know me I like to get things done in a hurry and can’t wait to be told I’ve improved 60%. Please pray for continued patience and healing. I know I am in the best place and in the best of hands. The Spinachers Cycling team is spinning up for the coming cycling season and are welcoming cycling enthusiasts to join us for the Multiple Sclerosis Bike Tour (Vineyards and Valleys Tour) on July 25 and 26th from Windsor to Wolfville return. Christian Meditation

On March 22 Rev Henry Sharam will be begin a small group focusing on Christian meditation. All are welcome to join together to journey into a richer experience of God’s presence. The group will begin meeting next Sunday for 6 weeks in the Heffler Room at 10:00 am

Women’s Connection

Women's Connection will meet on Wednesday, March 18th from 9:30 to 11 am in the Rockingham United Church on Flamingo Drive.  Lyse Laramee from the Financial Consumer Agency in Ottawa will discuss fraud prevention tips.  Local recording artist Shannon Walsh is our guest soloist and our speaker,  Maureen Bennett will share how she got 'out of the soup'.  Refreshments and nursery care will be provided for a small cost of $6.00.  Be sure to call 835-8629 to reserve.
