C.L.A.S.S. 201 - Spiritual Maturity

All Christians eventually ask the same questions: How can I get closer to God? How can I live more and more like Jesus? How can I grow in my faith? Where do I start? CLASS 201 is designed to answer these and many other questions.

We will focus on Four Basic Habits every Christian needs to develop in order to grow in spiritual maturity. Whether you’re a new or veteran Christian, you will be greatly encouraged. If you have taken 101, this is your next step. Friday, January, 22 @ 7:00pm & Saturday, January, 23 @ 9:00.

Sunday Prayer Link

The Youth Leader Training Program – a new 18 month certificate program offered by our Convention and designed to equip volunteer youth leaders with a basic understanding of youth ministry and youth culture – began this weekend at Petitcodiac Baptist Church. Please pray for the 20 students and their instructors, and also that through this program the Lord will advance the ministry we do together in the area of reaching youth for Christ.

Our Prayer Initiative

We are invited to join together in prayer for one another. As we move through our fellowship alphabetically, look for your name to appear. If it doesn't, please let Sharon know, for we wish to be in prayer for YOU. This week, please be in prayer for: Dino Amaral & Sergio; Bob & Louise Archibald; Bob, Suzanne, Alison, Gregory & Brian Baker; and April Barrett.

Prayer Chain

There will be a special meeting January 24th for all prayer chain volunteers. This meeting is important as there will be new structuring of our Prayer Chain. The meeting will be held in the Heffler Room following the morning service.

Massive Earthquake Hits Haiti

On Tuesday, January 12, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck the Caribbean nation of Haiti. The devastation is the worst quake in 2 centuries. CBM/The Sharing Way is responding to this disaster through Baptist World Aid (BWA), Action through Churches Together (ACT) and the French Baptist Union. Your gifts to assist with this huge need are critical. Please also be in prayer for our many Haitian brothers and sisters in Christ here in Canada who are deeply concerned for their family members and friends in Haiti. To assist with this emergency, you may give through your offering envelope. Please mark Sharing Way Haiti Relief Fund. Or you may donate online at www.cbm.org or call 905.821.3533, or send a cheque marked "Emergency Relief" to Canadian Baptist Ministries, 7185 Millcreek Drive, Mississauga, Ontario, L5N 5R4.

Small Groups on Sunday Evening

Small Groups will begin tonight @ 6:30pm We will be using a DVD presenting the ideas from Philip Yancey’s book entitled “What’s So Amazing About Grace?” In this ten-session DVD, Yancey offers intimate glimpses of God’s life-changing grace. Using candid interviews with real people, he illustrates the power of God to forgive the most horrible deeds, love the unloving, and redeem the seemingly irredeemable. He challenges us to be the channel of that grace to a world that needs it! We will view the video together as a whole group and then break into small discussion groups. Please come and join us. If you have never come before, give it a try! This is a great series and a great chance to get to know some of your fellow believers.
