Massive Earthquake Hits Haiti

On Tuesday, January 12, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck the Caribbean nation of Haiti. The devastation is the worst quake in 2 centuries. CBM/The Sharing Way is responding to this disaster through Baptist World Aid (BWA), Action through Churches Together (ACT) and the French Baptist Union. Your gifts to assist with this huge need are critical. Please also be in prayer for our many Haitian brothers and sisters in Christ here in Canada who are deeply concerned for their family members and friends in Haiti. To assist with this emergency, you may give through your offering envelope. Please mark Sharing Way Haiti Relief Fund. Canadian Government will match one to one any funds donated to our church. Or you may donate online at www.cbmin.org or call 905.821.3533, or send a cheque marked "Emergency Relief" to Canadian Baptist Ministries, 7185 Millcreek Drive, Mississauga, Ontario, L5N 5R4.

Sunday Prayer Link

This week our seven Regional Ministers will meet with Acadia Divinity College students who are in the final stages of preparation for ordained pastoral ministry. Please pray for these students that God will continue to bless them with wisdom, grace and ability.

Our Prayer Initiative

We are invited to join together in prayer for one another. As we move through our fellowship alphabetically, look for your name to appear. If it doesn't, please let Sharon know, for we wish to be in prayer for YOU. This week, please be in prayer for: Elizabeth Barrett; Herman & Vivian Barrett; Irwin Barrett; Amy Bachelor and Dante.

Prayer Chain Meeting Today

There will be a special meeting today for all prayer chain volunteers. This meeting is important as there will be new structuring of our Prayer Chain. The meeting will be held in the Heffler Room following the morning service.

Grief Group

Rev. Henry Sharam, a member of our church and a gifted counsellor, will be leading a

6 week grief group here at Bedford Baptist starting Friday, February 5th, 10-11:30 am in the Heffler Room. This group is open to all so if you have a family member or friend who would also like to come, please feel free to invite them. The cost is $50.00 per person. To register please email Rev. Sharam at sharam@ns.sympatico.ca or call the church office @835-5966.

Stewardship Meeting

There will be a brief Stewardship meeting during the Spaghetti Social on January 31st. The purpose of this meeting is twofold. First, an opportunity to introduce the new members of the committee and secondly, an information/planning time regarding the upcoming Brown Bread & Bean Luncheon.  There will be another meeting in February to finalize the plans for the luncheon and make the changeover to the new committee.

Annual Reports

The deadline for having your annual report passed in is TODAY. To date I have only received 14 of the 43 reports. If possible, I would like to have the report created in Microsoft Word or WordPerfect and sent via e-mail to bbc@ns.sympatico.ca. If you have any questions please call the church office 835-5966. Sincere thanks to all who have already submitted their reports.

Men’s Group

The Men’s group will be going bowling at the Sackville Superbowl on Friday Jan 29th, at 7:00 pm. For details please contact Randy Murphy or Ronzo Mantley.
