Thank Yous

Thank you to Walter Scott who generously volunteered his time to clean out the deep freeze.  Walter consistently works in the background supporting various ministries, often taking on the most unglamorous tasks; his services are invaluable!

The Mission Committee wishes to thank those who have supported Phoenix House by donating peanut butter. We would like to suggest to those who may be travelling this summer that you may collect shampoo or soap and we will give these to Phoenix House after our anniversary service in September.

We are pleased to announce that last week’s Yard Sale raised @ $1100.00! This money will be used to help offset the cost of this fall’s Church Family Retreat at Bayside Camp. A special thank you to those individuals who helped set up, sell, or clean up afterwards: Brianna & Krista-Lee Bates, Ian & Marie Waters Brown, Jessica Burns, Heather Cox, Al & Daneen Dakin, Kevin Haggarty, Ed & Dorothy Hughes, Gordon Irving, Ben, Catherine, & Isaac Levy, Wendy Levy, Dan Mitton, Cathy MacMullin, Andrea McCurdy, Sabrina Miron, Bob & Nancy Ohsberg, Kaleigh Rand, Stephen, Lisa, & Jacob Rand, Goldye Smith, Ida Whitehouse, and anyone else we may have missed.

It’s Back! Summer Reading Adventure

Reading is a rewarding activity on so many levels. Our Summer Reading Adventure takes that notion one step further as you can actually win prizes by reading through an assortment of books in our church library. This program is for all ages including teens and adults and we have a variety of prizes and a great selection of books in the library. Of course there are plenty of books to help you grow spiritually and help you develop your relationship with God. But you might be surprised to know there are also many mystery, adventure, and fantasy books in our library as well! Look for a pamphlet in today’s bulletin that explains all the details as the Adventure begins!

Congratulations!

We congratulate Jean Woodworth as she was chosen as Bedford Volunteer of the Year because of her volunteer efforts both here at our church and at Beacon House. Because of her works of service, Jean was invited to the Lieutenant Governor’s Garden Party and to visit the Queen on June 29th at the Cunard Center. Jean is living proof that deeds of kindness do not always go unnoticed!

Volunteers Needed

We are looking for more volunteers to help out with our Pre-School Program on Sunday mornings. Specifically we are looking for 2 volunteers to look after the first Sunday of the month, 1 volunteer to help out on the fourth Sunday of the month, and spares to fill in when necessary. If you are able to help out, please call Michelle Vekeman at 444-3755.
