Sunday Prayer Link

Pastors who are new to our Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches family will, along with their spouses, gather this month at our Saint John office for two days of orientation and connecting. Please pray that they will feel welcome and will see themselves as a larger team of pastors and churches working together to advance the Kingdom.

Our Prayer Initiative

We are invited to join together in prayer for one another. As we move through our fellowship alphabetically, look for your name to appear. If it doesn't, please let Peter know, for we wish to be in prayer for YOU. This week, please be in prayer for: Rev. Dr. Frank & Donna Guinta, Ian & Janette Haggarty, Joyce & Jasmine Haggarty, and Pastor Kevin Haggarty.

Birthday Greetings

Best wishes are extended to Grace McLean who is celebrating her 81st birthday on June 10th.

Thank You

My sincere thanks to the congregation for the gift certificate from Charm Diamond Centre.  I have already purchased a gold cross and will wear it with fond memories. As well, thank you for your gifts, cards and kind words. It was my pleasure to serve the church as Office Administrator. I would also like to thank Pastor Ida and Pastor Bob for their kind words last Sunday.  I was overwhelmed and honored by their praise and humbled knowing that God made me who I am.  It was a joy to work for the Pastoral Staff.  Love and blessings, Sharon"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though working for the Lord.  It is the Lord Christ you are serving."  Colossians 3:23-24.

Senior’s Spring Bus Trip

Our bus trip is scheduled for Friday, June 11 and the bus is full! We actually have a waiting list so if you decide that you are unable to make the trip sometime before Friday please contact the Church Office so that we can let those waiting know that there are seats available.  Just a reminder that a $15.00 donation is encouraged to help cover the cost of chartering the bus.

Visitation Committee

There will be a meeting of the Visitation Committee on Wednesday, June 16th at 1:30 in the Heffler Room.

Greetings From New Office Administrator

I would like to express my appreciation to everyone who has extended such a warm welcome as I have begun my duties as your new Office Administrator. Thank you to our pastoral staff as well for the assistance (and the patience!) they have offered to me. Special thanks to Sharon Higgins for being such a great mentor and for all the work she put in helping to make this as smooth a transition as possible. Peter

Children’s Workshop

A workshop on Young Children and Worship and Godly Play will be offered by Carol Anne Janzen on Saturday, June 12, from 9-3, at Port Williams Baptist Church.  This approach, which is now used world-wide, can be used either for children’s worship or in an educational setting, and has proved very effective in helping children engage deeply with the stories of the Bible. Having directed the Children and Worship program for 6 years in my own church, and witnessed its use in numerous others, I’ve witnessed its strength in various settings — it truly helps children to “know God” not just to “know about” God. One of the benefits is that once set up, it requires minimal weekly preparation. Please contact Carol Anne at 585-2230 or at carol.anne.janzen@acadiau.ca for more information or to register. The fee is $25 per person or $50 per church and includes lunch.
